The FOX Story

The origins of FOX can be traced back to William Fox, a New York City exhibitor who distributed films in 1904 and began producing them in 1913. Two years later, he opened up his studio in LA and named it the Fox Film Corporation. The company began producing westerns, musicals, screen biographies, and religious epics before merging with the company, Twentieth Century Pictures after a box-office failure.  From then, the company began producing noteworthy films from Home Alone to Titanic and to the famous Marvel Comics, we know and love today.

Then in 1981, the Twentieth Century–Fox Film Corporation was bought by Marvin Davis which was then sold to Rupert Murdoch who consolidated his film and television companies to be known as Fox Inc. Then, fast-forward to 2017 the Disney Company agreed to purchase 20th Century Fox and most other holdings of 21st Century Fox and continues to produce jaw-dropping films today.
